Hey, I’m Susannah, though most people just call me Susie. I’m a photographer and creative with a love for good design, beautiful spaces and anything with a strong visual point of view. I live in Christchurch, New Zealand with my husband, our two small wild ones, and our chaotic old dog, Jeffrey.
I’ve been photographing weddings for over a decade, across New Zealand and around the world. Experience has taught me when to step in, when to offer a little direction and, perhaps most importantly, when to let things unfold naturally. I like the photography to feel considered without the day ever feeling like it’s being orchestrated around the camera.
I’m as interested in the people as I am in the aesthetics. The personalities, the atmosphere, the fashion, the setting and all the different elements that give a wedding its own identity. My job is to take all of that in and create something that feels unmistakably yours.
Away from the camera, I’m usually thinking about interiors, planning the next international trip, pilates session, or catching up with good people over good food and wine.
I’m still excited by the fact that no two weddings ever look or feel quite the same. That individuality is what keeps me inspired and the work evolving.

How do you photograph weddings?
My approach is a balance of documentary storytelling and editorial portraiture. For most of the day, I’m watching for the moments happening naturally around me, while stepping in with gentle direction when it’s needed. I want your photographs to feel beautiful and considered, but still completely true to the way the day felt.
Where are you based and do you travel?
I’m based in Christchurch, New Zealand and photograph weddings throughout the country and worldwide. For destination weddings, travel is quoted individually depending on location.
When will we receive our photos?
You’ll receive a curated gallery of highlights within a few days of your wedding, with your full gallery delivered within 6–8 weeks. Everything is delivered through a private online gallery where you can download, share and order prints.
How many pictures will we receive?
Depending on your coverage, most wedding galleries include between 600–1,500 carefully edited photographs.
How much is your travel cost?
Travel is quoted individually depending on the location and requirements of your wedding. Get in touch with your plans and I can include all travel costs within your photography quote.
What do I need to do to book?
Once you’ve enquired, I’ll send through my wedding collections and we can talk about the coverage that best suits your plans. Your date is secured once your contract is signed and booking fee has been paid, with the remaining balance due two weeks before your wedding.
Can we meet?
Absolutely. I’m always happy to meet over a coffee or drink, or arrange a video call if you’re further away. It’s a chance to talk through your plans, ask any questions and see if we’re a good fit.
Do you shoot film or Digital?
Yes. Alongside digital photography, I offer 35mm film for its beautiful grain, colour and nostalgic quality. Film is included in selected collections and can also be added to your coverage.
